See the New Facebook Profile

By Andrea Stenberg on 12/08/2010 – 6:48 am PST7 Comments

Facebook has launched a new-look profile over the last few days. If you haven’t seen it yet, log into Facebook and check it out. The look is cleaner, with more graphics. There is more information about you right under your name and photos of you show up front and centre.

The photos under your name are any photos in Facebook where you are tagged, not just photos you have uploaded.

If you don’t like one of the photos, hover your mouse over that photo and an “x” will appear on the upper right corner. Click on the “x” and the photo will be removed from your profile page.

Note, however, that this doesn’t remove the photo from Facebook nor does it remove the tag. If you really don’t want that particular photo linked to you, remove the tag or ask the person who uploaded it to remove it.

This is one of the few changes Facebook has made that I really like. It doesn’t really change how I use Facebook (so no learning curve for me, but it does look a lot prettier.

When I first heard about the new profile I was disappointed when I logged into Facebook and saw the old profile. However, after checking out some of my friends I eventually got a message offering me the new profile.

If you haven’t received the new profile and would like to, go to http://www.facebook.com/about/profile/ to get the new look.
